With Autism close to one of our employee’s hearts, this year the team has voted on Autism Awareness for our 2027 Consolidated for a Cause beneficiary. Josh Frederickson, Consolidated employee, nominated the cause with his own story about his son.
Josh’s son, Chase, was diagnosed with Autism at just 3 years old, but Josh was no stranger to the lifelong disability as his mother worked with special needs children, many with Autism, in the school system when he was younger. He was taught from a young age that acceptance and being kind and helpful was important and he would often go along with his mom to help with activities, sometimes involved with the Autism Society of Wisconsin. Now with his own son being diagnosed, he knows he and his family are not alone.
“Throughout the years, I’ve learned so much about how these disabilities not only affect the person, but their families, the school, and the community.” shared Frederickson. “The more we spread awareness acceptance and the importance of being kind, the more the world will grow into being a better place for these individuals.”
The Autism Society provides families with items they may need in their homes and daily activities to make life easier whether that’s a special car seat or special programs that special needs individuals can participate in such as camps, summer programs, swimming lessons, and more. This drastically helps families get well-deserved support and keeps the kids (and adults) in normal routines, which is very important.
Well-trained caregivers can be hard to find so groups like The Autism Society also contribute towards respite care, physical, occupational, and behavioral therapy to aid in the shortage of autism services and the lack of ongoing support for adults. In addition, they will also help toward proper playground equipment, speech devices, and many other things that help support a rich and full life.

A building starts with a solid foundation; a community has to as well.
Here at Consolidated Construction, we recognize that our company is a collection of people who are part of the communities we serve. We dedicate a percentage of our annual profits to charitable causes while also empowering our team members with multiple opportunities to become active stewards in their communities.
Our employees are trained on how what they do every day (both on and off the job) is a reflection of the company and through hands-on volunteering and fundraising efforts, we bring our values beyond the jobsite and into the neighborhoods we all come from.
