WERNER ELECTRIC SUPPLY

_P7A2033Werner Electric Supply chose Consolidated Construction to complete the design/ build process and manage all aspects of the construction of the new 64,648 square foot office building and 197,417 square foot RDC.

Not only did the new facility grow in size from Werner Electric Supply’s previous headquarters, it added additional infrastructure and technological advancements to help the company run more efficiently and better serve its customers.

“The Werner team quickly developed a high level of confidence in Consolidated’s in-house design capability. Consolidated listened carefully to our needs and operational plan, and then developed a conceptual design that hit the mark. Werner felt highly engaged in the design development process. We also appreciate Consolidated’s leadership and direction in obtaining building approvals and permits.

Thanks to the Consolidated team’s fastidious pre-construction planning, construction activities were carried out quickly and efficiently. This resulted in an on-time completion date and a final construction cost under budget. Even Werner’s special request to use ten different electrical subcontractors was met with professional accommodation. We were able to utilize many of our customer resources on the project, and there were no issues between subcontractors. Everyone reported that the project ran smoothly.”

SUNDANCE APARTMENTS

SundanSundancece Apartments is a 108-unit, 165,000 square foot complex in Bismarck, North Dakota. Featuring upscale features and amenities suitable for young professionals and families, it answers the demand for those flocking to the area in search of new opportunities. That same demand for housing, however, and the shortage of skilled craftsmen presented new challenges for the project team to overcome.  Tenacity and ingenuity won out, however, and the team delivered the project on time, and with a 9% reduction in cost thanks to value engineering and steadfast negotiation.

“Sundance was Timberland’s first new construction multifamily project in North Dakota so planning and execution was of utmost importance. Given the tight labor market and rising cost of materials in Western North Dakota, getting the project within budget was a daunting task. From the beginning, Consolidated approached the project budget with tenacity and attention to detail that was second to none. Your ability to work with us and the design team to successfully suggest and incorporate money saving, value engineering ideas – while not compromising the overall quality of the product – was a testament to the experience and knowledge your team brings to the table.”

DAKOTA PRAIRIE REFINERY

IMG_5826-2The oil boom in North Dakota increased the need for several refineries in the area.  Consolidated Construction provided the design and construction of six major auxiliary buildings, including administration, laboratory, maintenance, fire fighting, electrical utilities and wastewater treatment for the 318-acre Dakota Prairie Refinery campus.

“Consolidated took on the challenge of this fast pace and aggressive schedule project head on, and successfully completed the buildings within the time frame we needed them to allow a timely turnover to the owner. Throughout the development and design stages, Consolidated led the way to provide the owners with multiple layouts and options to aid in cost effective solutions to meet the quality standards and budgets of the project. Consolidated took the burden of acquiring all the building permits and made sure that all local and other codes were met or exceeded which helped us focus on other portions of the project.”

“In our area of strong tourist seasonality it’s critical that hotel projects come in on time and on budget. Consolidated exceeded our expectations not once, but on two separate occasions, bringing both the Cambria Suites and MainStay Suites of Rapid City to successful conclusions with on-time grand openings. I was especially pleased with the quality, fit and finish of our projects, and the project management team was second to none. We communicated regularly and candidly, which led us through challenges swiftly and kept each project on target. The highest praise a company can receive from its customers is the referral of friends. I’ve referred my friends with confidence to Consolidated, and will continue to do so in the future.

MARION BODY WORKS

Marion2When the people of your company are working in separate buildings and double wide trailers, you know it’s time for an expansion. That was the case for Marion Body Works, a family-owned, high-quality truck body building company requiring a much needed upgrade to its headquarters and manufacturing facilities.

Marion Body Works, located in Marion, Wisconsin, chose Consolidated Construction to take on their expansion project, which included a new 18,400 square foot office headquarters and vehicle showroom and a 42,105 square foot addition to their warehouse and production building.

“The production space you built was great and put to use immediately upon your timely completion in January of 2016. I have to say that the work on our corporate office was a real ‘WOW’ for us!!! As you know, this was the largest building expansion ever undertaken by Marion Body and it was well worth it. We received great and positive comments from folks in the city of Marion as well as all the invited dignitaries at our ribbon cutting in June. Just last week, we held a National Sales Meeting for our Fire & Emergency dealers from across the country. Many of these individuals had not seen the finished work and were blown away. In addition, they were totally amazed and impressed that we broke ground on the facility last year on August 24th and occupied it in May. They are excited to put this new building to the test with new opportunities.

“Our experience in working with Consolidated was over the top from beginning to end. We enjoyed working with Rob, Adam, the other designers and most especially Ray along with many of the subcontractors your team brought to the table. I am not sure when we will take on another project like this, but I would be very happy to extol the benefits of working with Consolidated to anyone who wants to listen.”

NEW LONDON ENGINEERING

6013_3823_160708sTo remodel and expand their office space at New London Engineering, Consolidated selective-demolished and rebuilt the existing office, as well as a portion of their transition space between the office and manufacturing area.  The exterior of the building was renovated as well during this time. Consolidated was able to maintain a functioning office for New London Engineering throughout the course of the project. New London Engineering is located in New London, Wisconsin and produces conveyor systems.

“Our office upgrade was a very personal experience for me. We hadn’t had a renovation since the 1990’s and I spent years planning and envisioning the result before moving ahead. I hired Consolidated because they had been easy to work with on a prior shop expansion. After this project, I would use that same description: easy to work with. Our operations continued as normal in the midst of a six-month office renovation. Jason shouldered all the burden of cost control and scheduling, while Logan expertly managed the site and subcontractors, giving me time to run my company. When we’re ready for another project, I’m going to ask for them by name.”

“Liv Hospitality had previously performed general contracting activities for our new hotels in‐house. As our portfolio grew, we needed a building partner that could take over those functions and still meet our high‐quality standards. Consolidated’s team is made up of experienced people that understand the nuances of hotel construction, and in just a short time they’ve become like an extension of our staff. They’re committed to keeping our projects on budget and ready to open on time. It’s gratifying to have found a team that shares our company philosophy and goals.”

OAKES PUBLIC SCHOOL

Consolidated was selected to improve safety and security, improve public access and perception, and improve the community library.  When it became apparent that oakescosts would exceed the School District’s budget, Consolidated worked with the Architect to reduce costs by over $150,000. Bid results resulted in further savings, and the project was completed under budget and on time.  In addition, Consolidated provided the School District with a 10-year Capital Maintenance Plan for their use in budgeting future capital improvements.

“Consolidated was an excellent choice for our district administrative office and library expansion. Their project team was insightful and down to earth and they really understood the importance of local involvement. Although Oakes is located in a remote area, over 50% of the work was performed by subcontractors within a 75 mile radius of our community. That commitment to our local economy, while still meeting an aggressive schedule and budget, made the project a success for our district and Oakes residents. I recommend Consolidated highly to other districts seeking concerned and responsible leadership of their construction projects.”
