3/2017 Consolidated Construction Receives Projects of Distinction Awards
Consolidated Construction Co. Inc., a full-service design/build firm headquartered in Appleton, Wisconsin, was recognized for the recent completion of some of the most impressive and unique construction work in 2016. Consolidated Construction received Gold Projects of Distinction Awards by Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Wisconsin for the Werner Electric Supply Co. new headquarters and distribution center in Appleton, Wis., and the Marion Body Works expansion in Marion, Wis.
The 262,065-square-foot job at Werner Electric Supply was completed in June 2016. Consolidated Construction designed and constructed the project in just over 12 months. In addition to relocating the company’s headquarters, the new infrastructure and technological advancements in the distribution center will help the company serve its customers more efficiently.
“We are proud to have been a part of this innovative project,” Brian Gebauer, Consolidated Construction project manager, said. “The relocation and physical expansion of Werner Electric Supply allows the company to broaden their presence and serve a larger audience as the company continues to grow.”
Consolidated Construction was also recognized for the company’s design and construction role in the expansion of Marion Body Works in Marion, Wis. The 60,350-square-foot expansion is a response to the company’s impressive growth over the past 35 years that helped generate $50 million in annual revenue.
The project was divided into two segments: a 42,105-square-foot addition to the existing facility, and 18,425 square feet of new commercial construction that includes 16 private offices, 52 cubicle work stations, and various conference rooms for meetings and executive planning.
“Our role in the construction of Marion Body Work’s facility and new showroom provided our company great satisfaction and pride in a job well done,” Mark Schwei, Consolidated Construction executive vice president, said. “We finished more than 50 project upgrade requests by our original completion date.”
The Projects of Distinction Awards, which recognize projects built on merit, were presented February 9 at the Glacier Canyon Conference Center in Wisconsin Dells. Nearly 400 attendees were on hand to experience the many high-quality projects that ABC member contractors delivered for business and industry.
