Work on their new four-story, 132-room Cambria Hotel and Suites near the intersection of N. Plankinton Avenue and W. Clybourn Street is set to begin June 18, 2018. The project is owned by Integrated Plankinton Milwaukee LLC, whose managing member is Chicago-based MB Real Estate. MB Real Estate has authorized Consolidated Construction Co., Inc., a full-service design/build firm, as general contractor on the 80,708 sq. ft. complex.

The location is in the heart of the Westown district, in close proximity to the new Milwaukee Bucks arena as well as numerous upscale restaurants, indie boutiques, trendy shopping haunts and performing arts venues like the historic Pabst and Riverside Theaters. Amenities planned for the property include 78 King units, 50 Double Queen units, four suites, first-floor pool, and fitness center. The facility is expected to be completed and open for guests by August 2019.

“This is the fourth Cambria Hotel and Suites that we’ve partnered with Choice Hotels to build,” said Gene Schleusner, Consolidated Construction’s Senior Vice President of Business Development. “As a Choice Hotels Preferred Vendor, we’re proud to play a leading role in the effort to refresh the Cambria brand. This property features the new Cambria prototype design and will be a perfect complement to the ongoing revitalization efforts in downtown Milwaukee.”

The architect of record is Stan Ramaker of M+A Design in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Chris Horney is Managing Director on the project for MB Real Estate.
