3/2018 New Hilton-Branded Property to Add 219 Rooms to Rapid City Economy
Rapid City, SD – A major new Hilton-branded hospitality project will soon be added to the Rapid City skyline adding 219 rooms to the local tourism-based economy. Owners, Chris-Bro Hospitality and construction manager, Consolidated Construction Company, broke ground on the new property just south of I-90 exit 59 on Wednesday, March 28. The combination of Hilton’s spirited new TRU and high-quality Hampton Inn brands will provide a superior experience for Black Hills guests. The addition of more quality rooms will help bolster the local tourism economy.

“TRU is the new lifestyle brand for Hilton,” said Gene Schleusner, Project Leader with Consolidated Construction Company. “This unique dual-brand property is a model that has been gaining in popularity in other markets and offers guests a choice. They can choose a new value-based experience, or accommodations in at a property that has consistently proven to offer high quality. This property will be a great addition to the Rapid City hospitality industry.”
The ability to combine two Hilton brands into one property appealed to owners, Chris-Bro Hospitality.
“We’ve seen this dual Hilton brand working in other markets and recognize the genius in its design and offerings to guests,” said Craig Christianson, Chris-Bro CEO. “The TRU brand offers guests looking for a new, value-based experience with all of the amenities a very real option. While the Hampton Inn has consistently provided solidly high-quality accommodations. Combining the two allows us to present guests at both properties with exceptional amenities.”
The new TRU/Hampton Inn will be located at 825 Eglin Street, off North Lacrosse Street. The doors are expected to open to both properties in May 2019.
The new TRU brand offers a simplified and spirited experience for guests looking for value.
