12/2010: Cambria Suites Coming to Rapid City, SD
People traveling on business to Rapid City may be able to stay at a hotel geared toward them.
Plans are under way for a Cambria Suites hotel in Rapid City’s Business Park south of the intersection of East Mall Drive and Dakota Craft Drive and north of Interstate 90, according to documents filed with the Rapid City Planning Commission.
The Planning Commission approved the application for the initial and final development plan for a commercial development, Cambria Suites, during its Nov. 18 meeting.
Rapid City firm Dream Design International is developing the hotel. It will be four stories with a wood frame structure clad in manufactured stone and synthetic stucco. The building will be colored in the natural tones found in a prairie landscape but still keep the corporate identity of Cambria Suites.
A breakfast area and conference room will be available to hotel guests, and a large patio with a fire pit and seating is also planned, according to the documents.
