Consolidated Construction Co. Inc.
Since 1960, Appleton has been Consolidated Construction’s home, and since 1980 the company has occupied the former Woodlawn Elementary School on the city’s far north side. Once a rural, one-room schoolhouse built in 1827, the building experienced many additions and renovations until it was vacated by the school district in the 1970’s for two newer elementary schools to serve the thriving area. Consolidated made quick work of renovating the building to suit its needs, and we continue to modify the office, shop and yard as we grow. However, traces of the original one-room schoolhouse and large hallways typical of an elementary school still remain.
While we have hundreds of buildings in the area to showcase, one of our most recognizable is Appleton’s Cambria Suites, which won ABC of Wisconsin’s Excellence in Construction award in 2013. Overcoming many challenges, Consolidated was able to develop a new Cambria Suites brand model, including a patent-pending carpentry method, and completed the project in an unprecedented 10 months.
