Rick Bickert, President

Rick Bickert joined Consolidated Construction Company in 2002 and is a majority shareholder of the company.

While at CCC, Rick has developed, implemented and led programs to grow the company’s sales, revenue and profit. This includes creating a strategic plan, hiring new employees, evolving the company’s structure and systems to accommodate growth as well as integrating a fresh corporate culture.

Some achievements while at CCC include:

• Doubled revenue during tenure.

• Created a plan that grew backlog from 1-2 months to 7-8 months on
average.

• Led the creation, organization and implementation of a financial management system including the conversion to a new Project Management/Accounting software system.

• Transitioned company from a second-generation family owned, privately held firm to that of an employee owned shareholder corporation. Rick anticipated the cultural shift and new demands that would accompany this transition, and implemented:
. The company’s “7 Habits” culture, standards, and practices
. Project management methods, process, and software systems
. Training systems

Prior to joining CCC, he was employed by Westra Construction, Inc. from 1990 – 2001 where he started with the company as a Project Manager/Estimator and left as the Regional Manager/Vice-President. While at Westra, some of his achievements include:

• Designed and implemented system and structure for project management, estimating and field operation.

• Developed, presented and facilitated the “Life Leadership Program” and provided training for all levels of the company from field personnel to upper management.

• Served on the managing board that oversaw the expansion of the company from one office to four regional offices located throughout the country.

• Played major role in the revenue and profit growth from a $14 million/year company to over $112 million/year regional office and corporate headquarters.

Rick’s other career experiences include Project Manager, Project Engineer and Estimator positions with Moreton Construction, Pepper Construction, and Del. E. Webb Construction. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering from Iowa State University, is a certified trainer in the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, and has completed many continuing education seminars and trainings throughout his career. Rick enjoys duck hunting with his Labradors in the Horicon marsh near his home in Ripon.
