Mark Schwei, Executive Vice President

Mark Schwei joined Consolidated Construction in 2003, and is a majority shareholder of the company. His responsibilities include Business Development and Marketing – developing and directing strategic opportunities and determining which projects the company will pursue. He is a member of the executive committee and co-leader in staff development and strategic planning. As the front line contact for many business opportunities, he serves as the pre-construction phase team leader on strategic projects.

Some of Mark’s achievements while at Consolidated include:

• Re-created the business development team and expanded geographic reach,  doubling the company’s bookings.

• Created new marketing programs and target market initiatives for improved penetration in new markets and with past customer base.

• Co-founded Economic Development Associates (EDA) in 2008, the first  economic  development division of a construction company in the state of  Wisconsin.

Prior to joining Consolidated, Mark held a leadership position with Crane Engineering Sales, Inc.  Growing from Sales Engineer to President and COO, the firm’s sales more than quadrupled during his twenty-year tenure and profits increased ten-fold.  He also drove a dramatically different culture of empowerment, entrepreneurialism, accountability, discipline and excellence.

Mark’s other career experience includes Design Engineer and Sales Manager with Harnischfeger Corporation (heavy equipment manufacturer) in Milwaukee, WI from 1976-1983.  Notably, Mark has an in-depth knowledge of overhead crane design, features, and technology, and negotiated over $200 million in construction equipment sales through U.S.-financed aid in Papua, New Guinea.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Marquette University in Milwaukee Wisconsin, and is an active participant in MU alumni activities and angel foundation. He is a member of the Pai Tau Sigma honorary fraternity.

Headquartered in the Fox Valley but with strong ties to southeastern Wisconsin, Mark spends a great deal of time active in organizations in both areas. He is a member of the Green Bay Chamber of Commerce Advance Board of Directors, CEO Roundtable group, and TEC. He has sat on multiple manufacturing and distributor advisory boards, held officer positions in the Lake States Tappi Executive Committee and was a Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce Small Business Person of the Year finalist in 1997. In Milwaukee, Mark is currently a member of M7 and the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce Council of Small Businesss Executives (COSBE). He spends time weekly at the company’s downtown Milwaukee office, located in the Milwaukee City Center.
